BeSafe is available for free on iOS and Android. After installing the app:
A Yassuh code (based on the Open Location Code / Plus Codes standard) encodes your precise GPS position into a short alphanumeric string like 8FWC+JQ2. Emergency responders with a compatible device or app can decode this code to navigate directly to your location — no street address needed, even in remote areas.
Your code updates automatically as you move. There is no need to refresh manually.
BeSafe requires location access to generate your code. We only access your location while the app is open (foreground access). We never track you in the background.
If your code isn't appearing:
BeSafe can send you push notifications for breaking safety alerts in your area. To enable or manage notifications:
Add personal emergency contacts in the Settings tab. In an emergency you can tap their name to call them directly from the app.
The News tab pulls local safety bulletins and advisories based on your region. Content is updated in real time from verified sources. If you see outdated or inaccurate content, please contact us.
BeSafe does not require an account or login. No personal data is stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The app crashes on launch. Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
My location code looks wrong. Make sure the app has location permission and that GPS is enabled on your device. Move to an open area for a better signal.
The map isn't loading. Check your internet connection. The map and news feed require an active data connection.
Push notifications aren't working. Verify that notifications are enabled both in the app (Settings tab) and in your device's system notification settings.
